Arctic living

Combine the house fair in Kokkola with arctic living in Pietarsaari

The Arctic Museum Nanoq is situated in Fäboda, 7 km from the city center of Pietarsaari. The museum is celebrating its 20th birthday in the summer of 2011. Nanoq is Finland’s first and only arctic museum, with 8 000-10 000 yearly visitors. Today there are in total 18 buildings at the museum area. At the museum, there are a number of buildings that gives you an insight of how people lived in the Arctic’s. At Nanoq there is also a church, built as a copy of the northernmost church in Greenland originally built in 1909 when Christianity came to Greenland.

Come and let yourselves be carried away by the arctic history. The large collections at the museum offers a lot of fascinating stories – about broken hearts, frozen fingers and lost men.
